Golf club custom fitting is suitable for golfers of all abilities. If anything higher handicaps should benefit more from custom fitting as they may not yet have the skills to make up for any short comings that better players can.
If fitting can make a 10% improvement to your game than that would be 2 shots improvement for a 20 handicapper so there are big gains possible whatever your level of ability.
Golf clubs are designed for players of around 5 foot 10 inches of normal build and strength. If you are taller or shorter than this then you may need to have the loft and lie adjusted for your clubs in a custom fitting.
If your swing speed is slower or faster than standard then you may need a golf shaft fitting to get the right weight, flex and length of shaft to optimise the performance of your clubs.
Custom fitting will be worth it if you are playing regularly whatever your level. Yes, it may require a little more investment, but correctly fitted clubs will mean that they will work with your swing rather than against it. You will then probably keep the clubs for longer as you will enjoy playing with them, which will save you money buying lots of different clubs to find the right one.
Golf club custom fitting will also save you time as you just need to go to one session to get the best clubs for you. No need to spend months searching and testing lots of different clubs. At SGGT we stock all the major brands of drivers, fairways, hybrids, irons, wedges as well as hundreds of different golf shafts and our experienced fitters can recommend the best one for you.
Properly fitted golf clubs will mean more accurate shots, which will lead to lower scores and more enjoyment and no-one can put a price on that!
When you come for a custom fitting bring your existing clubs as we will always test your existing clubs. If we cannot improve on your existing clubs we will not recommend a new one to you. It may just require a loft and lie adjustment or a new shaft to turn a club you hate into a favourite. Depending on how old your clubs are, there may be newer versions that have more advanced technology, but with SGGT you will be able to compare your existing clubs with the best on the market to decide on the optimum clubs for your game.
You do not need to be playing well for a custom fitting session. If you as using clubs that are not custom fitted, then that might be the reason your game is not where you want it to be.
Before you take on any new job you would want to have the right tools, so before you go for lessons we would recommend getting your clubs fitted correctly first. If your swing changes as a result of lessons then at SGGT we can make adjustments to length, loft, lie and grip fitting to ensure that your custom fitted clubs still give you the best chance to hit great shots.
