6 Tips To Get The Most From Custom Fitting

During our custom fitting process you will be fitted for your clubs and to get the most from this session we would recommend preparing by following these recommendations:

1. Think About Your Fitting Objectives

What you would like from your custom fitting for each club? Is it more distance, more consistency or more accuracy? Do you need clubs that better fit your height, build or physical restriction? Is there a type of shot or distance you don't have a club for? Maybe you just need a set of clubs that works better together. Having a think about the factors that are important to you means that your fitter can focus your session to deliver the best results.

2. Bring Your Statistics

If you record your performances using a shot tracking system, then bring this information along as it can show your fitter where your game needs improving. At SGGT you can get a free trial of Arccos to track the performance of every club in your bag on the golf course. This shows which clubs you use the most and which areas of your game you need to find improvements. You can request you Arccos trial before you book your appointment and therefore come in with all information at your finger tips.

3. Come With An Open Mind

By all means research the products in the market so you have an understanding of the products we can offer. It's not compulsory as our fitters are experts on every product and shaft! SGGT is an independent fitter and we are not paid by any brand to recommend one product over another. We only care about creating the best performing clubs for your swing and will pick the best ones for you based on our experience. Keep and open mind on brands, shafts and grips and that is what you will walk out with.

4. Base Your Decision On Performance

You have the final say on whether you purchase the clubs we recommend and we will compare your existing clubs to every club in the market. Feel free to ask questions throughout the fitting so you understand and are happy with what is being recommended to you. Focus your decision on the best performing clubs for the shots you regularly need to make and your game will benefit.

5. Warm Up

Don't worry about any less than perfect swings as we have seen every shot going, even from the Tour players we fit! We will allow you time to warm up in the fitting studio, but if you are able to stretch or warm up before your appointment starts then we can get to the fitting stage quicker. We are based at the Swanston Golf Academy and the public range is next to our fitting studios. Range tokens are available from the shop at Swanston Golf Club at the top of the road.

6. Arrive Early And Relax

We all play better when we are relaxed and everyone who comes to SGGT for a fitting session leaves with a smile. If you arrive in good time you can sit and relax in our green room with a coffee and watch golf on Sky TV. Then our friendly staff will show you around and guide you through the fitting process, so relax and enjoy being fitted like a Tour Professional.
