This does not mean cutting down the shaft of a club made for adults as the head will be too heavy. Brands such as Ping, Callaway and TaylorMade make heads and shafts that are specifically aimed at juniors and SGGT can custom fit golf clubs to a junior golfers needs.

Starter sets from brands such as US Kids are ideal for those beginning their golfing career. At SGGT we cater for the more advanced junior golfer by custom fitting the Ping ProdiG set which includes upgrades as the junior golfer grows.

Ping ProdiG Junior Custom Fitting Program

With the Ping ProdiG program you pay a single fee to purchase your first set of custom junior clubs. Included in this is one upgrade to the shafts to make them longer or heavier so that they continue to fit the child as they grow.

In addition at SGGT we will be able to monitor the progress of the junior golfer using Trackman in our studios and be able to suggest when to transition to adult clubs according to athletic build and swing speed.

The 17 year old, +2 golfer from Kemnay became only the 5th golfer from the north east to win the championship at Edzell GC with a 2up win over former Scottish Under-14 Champion Cameron Mukherjee of Gullane, who is also an SGGT customer. SGGT fitted him for a Cobra King LTDx driver and a full set of Mizuno Pro 223 irons and Fraser felt this made the difference;
