Dynamic Loft And Lie Adjustments

If you play a lot or practice off mats, then the lofts and lies of your irons can change over time which will affect distance and accuracy.

Our dynamic loft and lie check involves striking each iron on an impact board using Titleist Pro V1 balls and then adjusting to ensure the club head strikes evenly across its sole.

Any necessary adjustments are made using our in house workshop and can have a dramatic impact on your game for very little outlay.

Why Is Loft And Lie Fitting Important?

The lie angle of a golf club is the angle of the shaft relative to the ground when the club sits flat at address. If the loft and lie of your golf clubs is not correct for your swing then it will affect the accuracy of your shots. Not every player is a standard lie and you may find that clubs will need to be adjusted to suit your swing path, height and build.

If the lie is too flat then the heel of the club will strike the ground first and close the club face at impact. If the lie is too upright then the toe hits the ground first and opens the face at impact. Getting the right lie setting ensures the club goes through impact with the centre of the sole striking the ground.

The loft of the club is the degree of face angle away from the vertical. It is important to get the correct loft on your club so that the balls launches correctly at impact on the right trajectory and with the right amount of spin to maximise distance and control on landing.

Working with loft and lie can improve the performance of your clubs and the experienced fitters at SGGT can adjust your clubs during a fitting to find the optimum set up for your game.
