Founded in 1972 in the USA, Aldila invented the carbon fibre graphite shaft after founder Jim Flood was inspired by the F-111 fighter plane he saw near their base in San Diego.
Aldila graphite shafts were so much lighter than the steel shafts of the day that they became an instant success. The brand name comes from the Italian for 'far beyond' and Aldila continue to build the business now that they are part of the MCA family of golf shaft brands owned by Mitsubishi Chemical Golf.

In an Aldila custom fitting session for woods in the Lyle Studio you can test the full range to determine the right shaft for you. Together with details of your grip fitting your Aldila shaft is passed to our in-house workshop to be created on site to the tightest tolerances.

Aldila has branched out into graphite iron shafts with their NV Iron Series. Using Trackman and premium golf balls hit outside from our Hogan Studio we can see and measure the flight of your iron custom fitting to get the right True Temper shaft for your irons
