Cobra 3DP Irons Review
24 March 2026
3D printing is now in golf and Cobra Golf is positioning itself as a serious player in the iron category for every level of golfer. Cobra has three heads in the 3DP range. The MB blade, the Tour players distance irons and the X game improver iron. Each clubhead is 3D printed using 2600 layers of 316 stainless steel powder that are fused together using powerful lasers.

Cobra says that that the 3D printing process gives their engineers complete freedom to create the best combination of shaping, feel and forgiveness to increase the level of stability into a relatively small head.
The MB head will be the highest ‘moment of inertia’ blade that Cobra has ever released. That MOI story continues into the Tour and the X heads as well. Like for like, they claim to be more stable than any other Cobra iron of the equivalent size.

However, as our lead fitter in Glasgow, Aaron Ellis' main questions is; does the tech justify the cost?
Aaron took the three models into our custom iron fitting studio where we fit iron sets with 4, 6, 8 and PW to ensure consistency right through the bag so hand over to him now.

"When originally testing I thought the head was forged and the lattice structure inside the head was the 3DP part. Cobra has worked very hard on the sound and feel of these irons and despite being printed, rather than cast or forged, they still feel remarkably soft. Being able to test 4-iron, 6-iron, 8-iron and pitching wedge off grass, the feel came through even more. Cobra engineers have so much freedom to do more in these heads and the performance certainly matches the hype.

"How much is too much for a set of irons? The Cobra 3DP are going to be £300-£350 per club, which is up there with the premium forged Miura irons, but there is much more of a tech story within these.
"People buy Miura as it is a well-established Japanese forging house and the irons are of such a high quality and built to pure precision, so you know exactly what you are going to get.

"However, Cobra usually prices their clubs very affordably, but these irons are not a normal set of irons and the performance is excellent. Some golfers will notice an improvement in their iron game with the Cobra 3DP and therefore the investment will be worthwhile.
"If you have a strict budget, or do not notice the performance differences, then SGGT has plenty of options at a more justifiable price, including other irons from Cobra Golf.
"The 3DP irons from Cobra are a glimpse into the future of golf club design and the tech is seriously impressive. I feel the performance meets the hype, so when you are next in for an iron fitting, make sure you have a hit with them.
