If you have bought clubs from SGGT then it is more than likely that our Harry Rogan has built them for you in our workshop. Whilst at work his hands skillfully work with shafts, heads and grips. However in his free time they deliver the power to take Harry to the peak of amateur long driving.

Harry has competed in several events on the amateur tour and in September won the 2023 European Amateur Long Drive Championships at Golfanlage Warnemünde in Germany.

In the qualifying round against 2 other players he had to hit 3 sets of 6 balls in 3 minutes per set. The best 3 drives from each round are added together and his best of 351 yards was enough to see him through to the top 8 knockout.

Each match was 6 shots per player and he cruised through the rounds to win the final with a drive of 348 yards.

For those that are interested in his clubs, he used a Callaway Epic Speed with 4.5° loft adjusted down 2° with a 47.75 inch 62g TPT 17 HI regular flex shaft. The flex may surprise you but this is a very stable shaft and Harry needs it to work with him to create more speed.

In the final rounds he switched to the appropriately named Brute driver with 4° loft and a 48 inch Paderson Kinetixx Velocity LD 30 Plus regular flex shaft that goes something like this:

Following his success Harry plans to compete with the professionals next year and will be working with his coach Scott Wilson in St Andrews to keep adding yards to his drives. But he will still be building custom fitted clubs at SGGT that go a long way for you too!
