At an SGGT custom golf club fitting you can expect the following process to measure clubs that are perfect for your swing.
All studio fittings are scheduled by appointment only and you can book online here. Appointments tend to run for an hour for an individual club or upward of three hours for a complete set of clubs.
Arriving sharp allows us to take full advantage of your allocated time. Once you arrive you will be greeted by one of our expert club fitters and taken into our revolutionary studios where you will start to hit some balls to warm up. Check out our tips to get the most from your fitting.
The Lyle Studio covers the long game and the Hogan Studio uses 4, 6, 8 and PW to fit a full set of irons.

Our studios have been designed to work indoors and outdoors given the unpredictability of the Scottish weather. We have a grass tee in front of our fitting bays that we also use to allow players to feel the club interaction between ball and turf.
Whilst warming up your fitter will explain the process in detail and ask you a number of questions around your game, current equipment and what you are looking to achieve from your fitting. This will help to establish a baseline and give your fitter a detailed picture of all factors that may affect the performance of your clubs.
During every fitting our main objective is to ensure that your club is as efficient as possible for you. The first thing your fitter will do is to assess your current clubs to analyse club specification such as length, loft/lie and swing weight.
We use Trackman and real time ball flight to look at a number of variables, such as spin rates, launch angles, spin loft and angle of attack to determine all elements which may influence the functioning of the club.
All aspects of the data we gather will be explained in detail as you hit balls with your current clubs during the fitting process. The data will then be used as a baseline to refer back to during the fitting.

Your fitter will now use the baseline data captured from your current clubs, along with extensive knowledge and experience, to select club heads and shafts from our interchangeable fitting system to test out (we have over 20,000 possible combinations so are sure to find your perfect match). You will then hit shots testing out the different heads and shafts, comparing data and fine tuning as you go. Your fitter will show you the Trackman data on the studios TV screens and explain why each change is being made.

At the end of the session your club fitter will discuss with you your options, detailing what they feel the ultimate combination of club is for you. If new clubs are recommended then they will provide you with a detailed club specification and price breakdown.
If they think your current clubs are a perfect fit for you, then they will tell you that. It is then completely up to you what you purchase, there is no pressure to buy.
If you choose to purchase your recommended clubs then any fitting fee you have paid will be deducted from the price of your order.
For an additional fee we offer the option to SST PURE each golf club. Ask your fitter to explain the process and advantages of PUREing a club.
Every club we create is expertly built by hand in our dedicated SGGT Workshop at Swanston, Edinburgh, where our master builders take pride in producing the highest quality clubs to the tightest tolerances.
How We Build Custom Fitted Golf Clubs
We combine state of the art technology along with top quality components to ensure that each club is built to the exact specifications from your fitting.
Step 1 - Component Check
Each individual component is inspected to ensure they completely match your custom performance requirements. The head, shaft, grip and even the ferrule are carefully inspected to ensure they are 100% correct.
Step 2 - Build Performance Check
Each club is checked against the custom build requirements prepared during your custom club fitting experience. Club lengths and swing weights are unique to each build and both are thoroughly checked to ensure they are spot on.
Step 3 - Loft & Lie Re-Check
Loft & lie fitting plays a massive role in club performance, so that's why we do it twice to get the very best out of your clubs! Once during the pre-build phase and then again at this stage post-build to ensure they are still correct.
Step 4 - Clean & Polish
A clean and polish allows us to make sure your clubs look fantastic, giving us yet another chance to make sure everything is exactly right.
Step 5 - Pack & Dispatch
We aim to have your new clubs ready for collection or delivered to your home or office within 2-3 weeks of your fitting. When your clubs are packed ready we give you a quick call to say that your clubs are built and ready for play.
