Titleist GT Fairway Wood Review

By Independent Reviewer Martin Hopley
The Titleist GT fairways replaces the Titleist TSR fairway wood with a number of new features to make it easier to play.

There is a new L Cup face on the front of the Titleist GT fairway to improve the launch of the club. The previous TSR fairways (below left) could have been better with low strikes on the face and the redesigned GT sole (below right) makes it easier to get more speed into these types of shots across both models.

Titleist GT2 Fairway Wood Review
The Titleist GT2 fairway wood is wider in the sole to make it more user friendly. This brings the CG lower down and this improves performance because the strike point is closer to the sweet spot in the centre of the face.

The GT2 spins a bit more than the GT3 model so it will suit a wider range of player as it will be easier to launch.

Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood Review
The Titleist GT3 fairway wood is the more compact version of the two models and the new sole really hugs the ground.

This makes it much easier to hit and in testing with our scratch handicap fitter Aaron Ellis, the faster ball speed and lower spin of the GT3 versus the TSR3 gained an extra 3 yards carry.

The GT3 sole also features an adjustable weight in the front of the sole. This offers five positions for the fitter to move weight to optimise launch and accuracy.

Unlike the TSR range, there is no plus version of the GT3, instead the lofts start at 13.5° and with the SureFit hosel there is plenty of adjustability available to get the right loft and head shape for you.
