Custom fitting is not always about getting more distance. Sometimes there are bigger benefits to be had from greater accuracy, especially with the woods. If you can hit every fairway then your scores will come down.

To demonstrate this, here is the Trackman screencast customer video of a driver custom fitting and fairway wood custom fitting for David.

David's current Titleist TSR 2 driver at 9° and TaylorMade M2 fairway were not suiting his swing so our fitter James got to work to straighten things out.

David said that he did not feel confident over his current driver and that was shown in the shot disperson. James switched him into a TaylorMade Qi10 Max driver with 10.5° of loft and an Oban Isawa Gold shaft which improved the flight and spin to gain 9 yards carry but also significantly improved the dispersion.

For the fairway, his current TaylorMade M2 had a Mitsubishi Diamana Thump shaft in which really needs to be thumped to work. The M2 face is quite deep so it will be good from the tee, but harder to hit from the fairway.

A better shaft for David was the same Oban Isawa Gold shaft as the driver and this was paired with the shallower Cobra Dark Speed Max fairway head at 15.5°. This is not only straighter and easier to hit, but flew 20 feet higher and carried 12 yards more.

As you can see, not only is the head style important but also getting the right shaft to suit your swing speed will not only help you hit it longer, but straighter too.

This is exactly how we conduct all our fittings and you will receive your own Trackman summary when you come for yours.
